Eligibility
Who can apply?

Must be a current academic staff member of the University of Maiduguri.

Must have secured admission or be awaiting formal admission to a recognized doctoral programme.

Must not currently receive sponsorship or scholarship support for doctoral studies.

Must be a Borno State indigene for the 200 indigene-reserved slots, or a non-indigene for the 20 non-indigene slots.
Documentation
Required documents
Recent passport-sized photograph with plain background.
Complete academic credentials: M.Sc., Bachelor's Degree, O-Level Certificate/SSCE, Primary School Leaving Certificate/FSLC and Certificate of Birth.
Letter of Indigene.
Valid Staff Identification Card.
Letter of Appointment.
Ph.D. Admission Letter for admitted candidates; optional for candidates awaiting doctoral admission after completing their Master's programme.
